As we know, agricultural land values have increased substantially since 2005. The below graphic from Ag Economic Insights (David Widmar and Brent Gloy) using National Ag Statistics Service data depicts the increase in cropland values by state from 2010 to 2021. The time frame of when NASS collected the data for 2021 more than likely precludes the inclusion of the large increase in cropland prices experienced in the last six months of the year. High quality cropland in areas has generally experienced larger increases than the average across each state.
